本製品は、シリアル通信(RS-232C)をEthernetに変換するメディアコンバータです。シリアル通信ケーブル長の制限(15m)から、Ethernetケーブル長の長さまで距離が延長でき、かつ、省配線化が実現できます。標準COMとして使用できる仮想COMモードのほか、透過モード、モデムモードの3つの動作モードを持ちます。従来品RP-COM(FIT)GYの上位互換品であり、増設用デバイスモジュールをスタック接続することにより、チャネル数の増設(RS-232C)や機能拡張(RS-422A/485)ができます。
